I decided to join an Online Card Class that deals with pattern paper. I love pattern paper and have too much but I really don’t know how to use it or make it work in my cards. So, I was really excited to be a part of this class.
For Day 1, Kristina and Jennifer talked about how they make pattern paper work for them. Kristina in particular, said she goes by this formula – Large/Medium+Small+Solid. And with that in mind, I came up with this card.
I used 3 patterned papers from ColorBok’s Miso Pretty 12×12 pad. I chose three complementing patterns that I thought fit Kristina’s equation. I used a brown card base from The Paper Studio and to that, I adhered the 2 patterns on the card. Then I used the pattern paper that was considered as the “solid” one and stamped my sentiment on it using ColorBox chalk ink in Chestnut Roan. I used the Happy Birthday greeting from the Hero Arts OWH Year Round Sentiments. I then accented the sentiment strip with one of the glitter stickers from Martha Stewart. To finish the card, I drew white dash lines and rounded my corners.
