The theme for the challenge this week is — ANYTHING GOES!!!

Here is my card —

Safe Travels

I started this card with some grey card stock from Bazzill cut to a standard size card with the fold on top. I added a panel measuring 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 using Bazzill’s Licorice Twist card stock. Then using patterned paper from The Chalk Studio Collection from My Mind’s Eye, I chose 4 prints and punched out 1 1/2 inch scallops for each. I used all 4 medium sized mode of transportation wood veneers from Studio Calico that was included in the kit. I adhered each one to each scallop with Glossy Accents. When that dried, using foam squares, I adhered the scallops to the front of the card. For the the sentiment, I used the “safe travels” sentiment from the Journey of Life set included in the kit. The kit also included a mini ColorBox white ink which I used to stamp the sentiment.

That’s it for this card. I will be back again with my last card from this kit.

***I did not create a supply list because with the exception of adhesives and the scallop punch, everything I used came from the kit.

Thanks for reading 🙂

Always Be A Dreamer

Hey everyone! Today’s card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

wed-newchallenge-headerThe theme for the challenge is — ANYTHING GOES!

Here is my card —

Always Be A Dreamer

I started the card with some Neenah Solar White card stock cut to a landscape standard sized card. I cut circle from masking paper and adhered it to the center of the card. I stamped the Hero Arts Tiny Flowers background stamp in Hero Arts shadow ink in Cornflower blue. Because I masked the circle, that whole part was completely free from ink. For the flowers, I used the Simon Says Stamp “Life Is A Journey” set and stamped the flowers in the following Hero Arts shadow inks  – Soft Cantaloupe, Cornflower Blue and Bubblegum Pink. For the leaves, I used Hero Arts shadow ink in Green Hills. For more interest, I restamped the middle and end flowers so I could attach them with foam adhesive for added depth. For the sentiment, I used the Be stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I used Soft Cantaloupe for the first and last line and then for the Be, I used Cornflower Blue. To finish the card, I put some Hampton Arts clear gems on the raised flowers.

SUPPLY LIST:
1. Neenah Solar White card stock
2. Hero Arts Tiny Flower background stamp
3. SSS  Life Is A Journey stamp set
4. SSS Be stamp set
5. Hero Arts shadow inks Cornflower Blue, Soft Cantaloupe, Bubblegum Pink and Green Hills
6. Hampton Arts clear gems
7. Inkadinkado stamping masking paper

That’s it for this card! Thanks for reading! 🙂

The theme for the challenge is ANYTHING GOES!

Here is my card —

For today’s card, I am going to use the supplies from the September Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. My October Kit has arrived and let me tell you, I cannot wait to play with them. I just want to finish the cards I had planned for this kit before I use the new kit.

So here is my 3rd card for this kit –

Life Is A Journey

I started the card with some Neenah Dessert Storm card stock cut to a standard size card. Then I got a 3 1/2 by 4 piece of copy paper and used a protractor to curve the bottom edge. I used assorted strips of patterned paper from the Chalk Studio Collection from My Mind’s Eye that is included in the kit. I adhered them diagonally on the curved paper. I cut the the extra edges hanging and adhered the panel on the front of the card with foam adhesives. For the sentiment, I used two sentiments from the set which made out the name of the actual set – Life Is A Journey. I stamped the sentiment in ColorBox Chestnut Roan ink. To finish the card, I rounded all four corners of the card.

That’s it for this card. I will be back with two more cards for this kit this September before I start making cards with the October Kit.

Thanks for reading! 🙂

You Are The Best

Hey everyone! Today’s card is my second card for the Simon Says Stamp September Monthly Card Kit.

Here is my card —

You Are The Best

I started this card with the Aqua card stock that comes with the kit that is cut to 4 1/4 square card. Then on a 4 inch square piece of Neenah Solar White card stock, I traced the curved banner stencil on masking paper. I cut it and placed it at the bottom of the white card stock and stamped the different flowers and leaves on the top left and bottom right of the masking paper. I used the following Hero Arts shadow inks for stamping –  Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Cornflower Blue, Butter Bar, Passionflower and Green Hills. I removed the masking paper and stamped the curved “You Are The Best” sentiment from the set in Hero Arts Tide Pool shadow ink. I felt the card was a little bare, so I used some strips of the light colored patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye that came with the kit. I arranged them on the top left overlapping each other to look like banner flags. To finish the card, I rounded all the corners of the front panel and adhered it to the aqua card stock with foam adhesives.

That’s it for this card. I hope you all have a great day 🙂 Thanks for reading. I’ll be back again soon with another card from this kit.

**I didn’t add a Supply List like I always do because besides the inks (which I mentioned above), all the other supplies came from the card kit.

Flying By To Say Happy Birthday

Hey everyone! Today’s card is an entry for the Lawnscaping Challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

Challenge 65

The theme for the challenge this week is —- MY FAVORITE THINGS. Which means that to make the card, we needed to use some of our favorite crafting tools. I picked the following  – Lawn Fawn stamps (of course), Kraft card stock, alcohol markers (I used American Crafts Chromatix markers) and distress inks.

Here is my card —

2Flying By To Say HB2

I started with some Kraft card stock cut to a landscape standard size card. Then I used some Neenah Solar White card stock and masked off the bottom area to make the blue part. I used Broken China and Salty Ocean distress inks for the sky and Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint for the grass. Then for my scene, I used 2 Lawn Fawn sets. For my paper airplanes, I used Flying By and for the cupcakes, I used Bake Me A Cake. I colored the cupcakes using the American Crafts Chromatix markers and paper pieced the paper planes. I wanted it to look like the planes were flying by to drop off birthday cupcakes, so I drew black swirly lines to look like strings with a Pilot GTech pen. For the sentiment, I used the stamp from Flying By and combined it with the sentiment from Year 2. I stamped the sentiment with ColorBox Chestnut Roan ink.

I know that we were only supposed to use our favorite crafting products, but it doesn’t hurt that I love cupcakes as well. 🙂

SUPPLY LIST:
1. Neenah Dessert Storm card stock
2. Neenah Solar White card stock
3. Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Broken China, Salty Ocean, Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters
4. Lawn Fawn sets  – Flying By, Bake Me A Cake, Year 3
5. ColorBok Beach House Collection patterned paper (paper pieced paper planes)
6. American Crafts Chromatix Markers
7. Memento Tuxedo Black ink
8. ColorBox Chesnut Roan ink
9. Pilot GTech pen
10. Tsukineko sponge daubers

That’s it for this card. Thanks for reading.

Thinking of You

Hey everyone. Today’s card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The theme for the challenge is ANIMAL ANTICS. I was hopping along the STAMPtember Blog Hop over at Simon Says Stamp and I came across this card from Jennifer McGuire. It totally blew my mind and I was in awe of her creative genius. I immediately fell in love with it and decided to try the same technique. Jennifer used the Lots of Dots set and the Big Hello die cut. I did not have any of those products with me so I had to improvise.

Here is my card —

Thinking Of You

I started the card with some Bazzill Basics card stock in Feather Boa folded to a standard size card and I used some Strathmore water color paper for a white panel.

I had a stencil of a bird and a heart that I recently got from Hobby Lobby that I thought would work great. Now for the dots…I originally thought of using a stylus to make the dots but then I saw the berries in the SSS Life is a Journey stamp set that I thought would work well. So I started stamping. I divided the bird into 6 parts so I could change colors easily. I used different Hero Arts shadow inks – Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe, Butter Bar, Soft Pool and Tide Pool in that order. After I stamped the dots, I used my stylus to fill in some areas that were bare. I also used one of the hearts using the same technique in Pale Tomato Ink.

For the sentiment, I used one from the Hero Arts OWH Year Round Sentiments. I embossed it in silver embossing powder. To finish off the card, I adhered the white panel onto the card stock base with some foam adhesives.

SUPPLY LIST:

1. Bazzill Basics card stock in Feather Boa
2. Strathmore watercolor paper
3. StenWorks bird and heart stencil
4. SSS Life Is A Journey stamp set
5. Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Pale Tomato, Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe, Butter Bar, Soft Pool, Tide Pool
6. Hero Arts OWH Year Round Sentiments
7. American Crafts Zing silver embossing powder

That’s it for this card. Thanks for reading 🙂

The theme for this challenge is – ANIMAL ANTICS. They are featuring Lawn Fawn stamps – and I love LF so much 🙂 so I decided to also use LF stamps since they have many cute animal images.

Here is my card —

Thanks

I started this card with some Bazzill Basics card stock in Feather Boa folded to a standard size card with the fold on top. I recently purchased a pack of note cards from Studio G with different kind of die cut images on the card. This particular one had a talk bubble as its die cut. I cut the card to a narrow panel and distressed the entire frontof the panel with some Angel Pink ink from Memento with a sponge dauber.

One of my favorite Lawn Fawn set is the Critters in the Forest and I always keep going back to that set. I love the owl, bird and the hedgehog. I stamped the log and hedgehog and stamped the bird on top of the hedgehog a couple of times to make it look like they are standing on top of each other trying to reach the talk bubble. Then I colored the entire image with some American Crafts Chromatix Markers. I am trying very hard to learn how to blend alcohol markers and I am still a work in progress. I will eventually get Copics when I think I am good enough and it will be worth the expense. 🙂

Every time you order directly from LF’s website, with your order they send a thank you stamp that can also be used with your projects. One of the stamps I received is the talk bubble thanks stamp and I thought it would be perfect for the card since there was already the die cut talk bubble image on the panel. I used VersaMark ink and white embossing powder from Martha Stewart. I stamped the sentiment directly on the Feather Boa card stock approximately where the die cut from the panel would be.

Then I adhered the panel using foam adhesives. I chose a floral pink toned pattern paper from Basic Grey’s Out of Print collection. I cut the paper into 2 1/4 strips of paper and adhered them close together. To finish the card, I rounded the bottom edges.

SUPPLY LIST:

1. Bazzill Basics card stock in Feather Boa
2. Studio G Talk Bubble die cut notecard
3. Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Forest set
4. Lawn Fawn’s complimentary Thanks stamp
5. American Crafts Chromatix Markers
6. Basic Grey Out of Print 6×6 paper pad
7. VersaMark ink
8. Memento Tuxedo Black ink
9. Memento Angel Pink ink
10. Martha Stewart white embossing powder

That’s it for today. Thanks for reading 🙂
