Celebrate Today, and Everyday

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a new card using some Paper Smooches products.

Here is my card —

Celebrate Today and Everyday

I started this card with a Core’dinations yellow card base which I cut to a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card. Then I cut a piece of Neenah Solar white to 4×4 to be the front panel. For the images, I used some free digi images from the Paper Smooches blog. I colored the feathers with Copic markers (check the supply list for all the colors I used).

For the border strip, I cut the scallop punch from American Crafts on Simon Says Stamp Smoke card stock. I adhered that to the left side of the front panel. On top of the strip, I placed a bunch of feathers, which I tied with some black twine from Doodlebug, I finished the bow with a gem Hero Arts.

For the sentiment, I used the Pretty Phrases from Paper Smooches and embossed it on Black Licorice card stock from Bazzil.

To finish the card, I added some stitch lines on the setiment strip and added more gems from Hero Arts around the card.

That’s it for this card. Thank you for reading.

SMILE – It’s Your Birthday

Hi everyone. I’m back with a new card for you today – well not really a new card. I made this card a few months ago and life happened before I was able to post this. So here I am today sharing this card.

Here is the card —

Smile Its Your Birthday

I started this card with a card base from Core’dinations. I cut the largest rectangle from the MFT Stitched Rectangle Stax from Neenah Solar White card stock. I created a circle template and colored it in using different colors of Tim Holtz Distress inks to create a rainbow ink blended effect.

For the sentiment, I cut the smile die cut from Little Yellow Bicycle from Bazzil Black Licorice card stock. To make it look like an embellishment, I added some Wink of Stella to the entire word and then finished it off with Glossy Accents. After it dried, it looked like an enamel accent which I really liked. I will definitely do that more often. For the second sentiment, I spelled out the words using Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABC and embossed it with white embossing powder on black card stock.

To finish the card, I added some black enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye to give it a finished look.

That’s it for this card.

I really feel productive and hopefully this continues until next year. Four months in a craft funk is no joke. I’m pretty excited to be creating again – stress free.

I’m Back!!!!! and a new card

Hi everyone! It’s been almost two and a half months since my last post and since I made a card. My life these past two months were far from uneventful. My uncle came into town and stayed for a month and I spent most of my time with him. After he left, I just couldn’t get back into the swing of things. I felt pressured to make a card and every time I sat down to make one, my creative juices were completely dried up. I gave up and did something else and that happened pretty much everyday for the next month or so. I tried so hard but nothing worked. So I decided to give it some time and step away. Then today, I was watching a video tutorial on YT and I felt like creating. So here we are….

I started with the different challenge blogs I frequently join and listed the ones I wanted to join. This brings us to today’s post…

Here is my card –

I started this card with some Hero Arts Snow layering paper cut to a card base measuring 5 x 3 3/4 inches. I masked off a 1 inch column vertically towards the left of the card stock. I stamped the different flowers from the Truly Appreciated set from Hero Arts. I decided to use Versafine Onyx Black ink so I could clear emboss the flowers. For the shading, the wanted to have an ombre effect, I used the following inks – Hero Arts Soft Pool, Hero Arts Tide Pool, and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue. For the sentiment, I used one of the greetings from the Little Hoot set from Hero Arts again stamping it in Versafine Onyx black and clear embossing powder.

To finish the card, I added some enamel dots from My Minds Eye and black gemstones from Hero Arts.

That’s it for this card.

This card is an entry for the following challenges:

I Only Have Eyes For You

Hi everyone!

Today I’m sharing a card for the Create A Smile March Guest Designer Call.

Guest Designer Call

The guest call will run until February 13 so if you’re interested, go and check it out here.

For this card, I decided to use one of the freebies they have on their website. Here is my card —

IMG_5084

Recently I have been enjoying using digital stamps. I used a Newton’s Nook freebie and I purchased some from Gerda Steiner and now I’m using another freebie from Create A Smile. I will always love clear stamps and I will never stop using them, but digi’s are pretty cool to use once in a while.

I started this card with a panel of Neenah Solar White card stock that measures 5 x 3 3/4 inches. I wanted to color some embossing paste so I used Audrey Blue and Doll Pink from Simon Says Stamp to color some white embossing paste from Wendy Vecchi. I used a chevron stencil from Heidi Swapp and did alternate colors of the paste.

For the focal panel, I cut the image from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling card but I wanted the top to have a straight edge but still keep the stitched detail – so I used the straight border die from the Stitched Borders 2 from Pretty Pink Posh to cut the top part.

I colored the bird with some Copic markers. I will mention the colors in the supply list below. For the sentiment, I was struck with the bird’s big eyes so I wanted to use a puny sentiment related to that. I stamped the sentiment from the Only Have Eyes for you set from Simon Says Stamp with Versafine Onyx black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

To finish the card, I adhered the stitched panel to the chevron piece and I adhered the chevron panel to a standard size card from Neenah Solar White. I also added  Glossy Accents to the eyes of the bird and his stomach. I used enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye to tie in all the colors together.

That’s it for this card.

Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a card using a couple of sketches from 2 different challenges. I know it’s ironic that I decided to combine two sketch challenges because realistically it would just be a mess. But both sketches I used are very similar.

This card is an entry for the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. This is the sketch —

CTS_105

And this is sketch for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge.

210

So when you look at both sketches, they are very similar. A frame/panel, a focal point on the left and the sentiment next to it. The only difference is the orientation. So I may be crazy but I decided to incorporate both sketches and make it my own.

Here is my card —

Happy Birthday Doggie

I started this card with some Carnation layering paper from Hero Arts cut to a landscape card with the fold on top. I used the star backdrop from Lawn Fawn’s Teeny Tiny Backdrops. I wanted to stamp the background and have a tone on tone effect, so I used Cotton Candy ink from Simon Says Stamp. For the frame, I used the two biggest rectangles from the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle dies. I cut a frame from some gold paper from the Glitzy Glitter paper pack from Die Cuts With A View.

For the focal image, I stamped the dog from the Cupcake Cutie set from My Favorite Things and colored it in with Copic markers. I will have all the colors in the supply list below. I cut the image with a circle punch and I cut another balloon and adhered it with foam adhesive. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the balloon and the ribbon on the dog. Then I added Glossy Accents to the balloon. For the sentiment, I stamped the birthday greeting from the same Cupcake Cutie set on a strip of Carnation layering paper with Versamark and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.

To finish the card, I placed some gold and pink enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye.

That’s it for this card. For a complete list of the supplies I used, please check the supply list below.

Thank for reading! See you soon.

A Tweet Thank You

Hi everyone! My crafting mojo is back! Towards the middle of December, I just couldnt find the time or just the creativity in me to make something. But today when I was browsing different card challenges, I saw this one for Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge and I was struck with creativity.

The theme for this challenge is THANK YOU. I personally do not own any stamps from Newton’s Nook because I’ve only recently heard about them. But I have some stamps I have my eye on and I will definitely be purchasing some.

IPC_FLASH

For this challenge, I decided to use some of the freebies on their website. This bird caught my eye —

BirdBalloon__2013NND

So decided to use it and just get creative.

IMG_4973

I colored the bird with Copic markers and cut it out. For the balloon, I used the Simon Says Stamp Balloon die on a piece of pink patterned paper from the Chalk Studio Collection from My Mind’s Eye. For the ribbon, I die cut the tiny ribbon from the Thank You For Your Support set from Simon Says Stamp on some Black Licorice card stock. And for thr string, I used some black and white twine from Doodlebug.

For the curved panel, I used another of the papers from the same My Mind’s Eye paper pad and adhered it towards the bottom of the card with the curved part closer to the top.

For the sentiment, I embossed a thank you greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Giving Thanks stamp set with VersaMark and embossed it with white embossing powder on a strip of black licorice card stock. I cut banner end and adhered it with foam tape.

To finish the card, I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

For a complete list of all the products I used, please check the supply list below.

That’s it for this card. Thanks for reading.
