Safe Travels

Hey everyone! This is my 4th card for the Simon Says Stamp September Kit. I really love this kit and I want to try and use up everything from the kit before I move on to next months kit.

This card is also an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The theme for the challenge this week is — ANYTHING GOES!!!

Here is my card —

Safe Travels

I started this card with some grey card stock from Bazzill cut to a standard size card with the fold on top. I added a panel measuring 3 1/2 by 5 1/2 using Bazzill’s Licorice Twist card stock. Then using patterned paper from The Chalk Studio Collection from My Mind’s Eye, I chose 4 prints and punched out 1 1/2 inch scallops for each. I used all 4 medium sized mode of transportation wood veneers from Studio Calico that was included in the kit. I adhered each one to each scallop with Glossy Accents. When that dried, using foam squares, I adhered the scallops to the front of the card. For the the sentiment, I used the “safe travels” sentiment from the Journey of Life set included in the kit. The kit also included a mini ColorBox white ink which I used to stamp the sentiment.

That’s it for this card. I will be back again with my last card from this kit.

***I did not create a supply list because with the exception of adhesives and the scallop punch, everything I used came from the kit.

Life Is A Journey

Hey everybody! I’m sorry for the delay in posting cards – real life rook over for a while and crafting had to take a backseat.

This card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

The theme for the challenge is ANYTHING GOES!Β

Here is my card —

For today’s card, I am going to use the supplies from the September Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp. My October Kit has arrived and let me tell you, I cannot wait to play with them. I just want to finish the cards I had planned for this kit before I use the new kit.

So here is my 3rd card for this kit –

Life Is A Journey

I started the card with some Neenah Dessert Storm card stock cut to a standard size card. Then I got a 3 1/2 by 4 piece of copy paper and used a protractor to curve the bottom edge. I used assorted strips of patterned paper from the Chalk Studio Collection from My Mind’s Eye that is included in the kit. I adhered them diagonally on the curved paper. I cut the the extra edges hanging and adhered the panel on the front of the card with foam adhesives. For the sentiment, I used two sentiments from the set which made out the name of the actual set – Life Is A Journey. I stamped the sentiment in ColorBox Chestnut Roan ink. To finish the card, I rounded all four corners of the card.

That’s it for this card. I will be back with two more cards for this kit this September before I start making cards with the October Kit.

Celebrate Banner – Card #2 10 Minute Craft Dash

Hey everyone! I’m back today with another card for the 10 Minute Craft Dash from Paulina at Pretty Pink Posh

Here is my card —

I finished this card in 8 minutes and 49 seconds. Yay —- new record for me πŸ™‚

This card was inspired by this video by Kristina Werner. I loved the idea of this card so I used her card as a sketch and CASE’d it.

I started this card with some cream card stock from Neenah. On the bottom of the card, I stamped the Stampabilities Quatrefoil background stamp with ColorBox Chestnut Roan ink. Β Then, I created a patterned paper panel using strips of paper from ColorBok’s Miso Pretty Collection. At the bottom of the panel, I stamped a sentiment from a Studio G birthday stamp. Using another Studio G set, the stamped the banner, cut it and adhered it to the top portion of the card. To finish it off, I added some natural twine from Lawn Fawn and rounded the outside corners.

1. Neenah Creative Collection Natural card stock
2. ColorBok Miso Pretty Patterned Paper Collection
3. Stampabilities Quatrefoil background stamp
4. ColorBox ink in Chestnut Roan
5. 2 Studio G Stamp sets (one for the sentiment and the other for the banner)
6. Lawn Fawn Single Natural Cord
