Hi everyone. Today’s card is another share from the SSS July 2014 card kit. I’ve really had a lot of fun with this kit and I am very excited to move on to the August kit.
This card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The challenge for this week is ANYTHING GOES.
This is also an entry for A Blog Named Hero‘s most recent challenge. The challenge theme is Die A Little.
Here is my card —
I started this card with 4 3/4 by 4 1/4 card from Neenah Solar White card stock. I adhered a piece of patterned paper from Pink Paislee over the entire front of the card. The front panel, I cut a piece measuring 1/4 x 3 3/4 from more Neenah Solar White card stock. I die cut a few pieces of the hanger die cut from the Thanks For Your Support coordinating die set from SSS. I stuck each hanger together and for the top most piece, I covered it in VersaMark and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder for American Crafts. That made it look like a steel/metal hanger which was the look I was going for.
For the envelopes, I stamped the smallest envelope from the Happy Thoughts stamp set on different patterns from Pink Paislee. I attached the envelopes on the hanger with blue twine from Maya Road. For the sentiment, I used Milo’s ABC from Lawn Fawn in Memento Paris Dusk ink and a sentiment from the Love This set using Lipstick Red ink. I rounded the corners of the front panel and adhered it with foam tape.
That’s it for this card. For a list of the tools and supplies I used on the card, please check the supply list below.
Thanks for reading.
Hi everyone! Today’s card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
The theme for this week’s challenge is ANYTHING GOES! (my favorite since I can completely do whatever I want) 🙂
I tried a technique I learned from the last Online Card Class – Watercolor for Card Makers. Here is my card —
I started this card with a panel of 90 lb Strathmore watercolor paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4. I stamped the Recollection Tapestry background stamp I got at my Michael’s with VersaMark ink. Then I heat embossed it with some Hero Arts white embossing powder. I used different shades of green and blue watercolor for the panel. I wet the entire surface first and applied the different colors horizontally. The embossed part resisted the watercolor to reveal the design.
For the sentiment, I one of the tags from the Memory Box Clasic Tags die and stamped and embossed the Love You sentiment from the Love You stamp set from Simon Says Stamp with Hero Arts white embossing powder on Bazzill Licorice Twist card stock. I used some black twine to attach the tag and embellished using black enamel dots from My Mind’s Eye. I finished the card by attaching it to a Bazzill Licorice Twist card base with foam tape.
All the supplies are listed below.
That’s it for this card. Thanks for reading!
I used the Recollection Tapestry backdrop set which is only available at Michael’s so I am not going to be able to link it below.
*** This is my third card for the Simon Says Stamp October Kit and I have one more coming tomorrow and then I will move on to the November kit. Sorry real life took over and October was just hectic and crazy.
Hey everyone! Today I made a card using the supplies from the Simon Says Stamp October card kit.
Here is my card —
I started this card with the aqua card stock included in the kit. I cut and scored it to a standard size landscape card. Using some of the awesome Lawn Fawn papers, I used my Cuttlebug and cut some flags and pennants using the Sizzix Framelits Banner set. I arranged the banners and flags diagonally adhered it with some foam adhesives. Then I punched a hole in each one and threaded the twine from May Arts on each of the holes and secured the tails at the back with some tape. For the sentiment, I used the Kelly Purkey Teal Alpha stickers and spelled Happy Birthday. To finish the card, I used an assortment of sequins from Lawn Fawn’s Into the Woods collection to embellish the card.
Thats it for today. I will be back with my last card for the October kit.
Owl I Want For Christmas Is You
I made this card in October and I entered it for the Lawn Fawn and Two Peas In A Bucket challenge. I thought I would share it since I never made a blog post about it. 🙂
I started out with a bamboo green card stock from The Paper Company cut to a standard size card with the flap on the side. To that I layered some red card stock and then layered the green chevron paper from Lawn Fawn’s Fa-la-la patterned paper pack. For the top panel, I stamped the Polaroid image from Say Cheese on the O Christmas Tree patterned paper from the same Fa-la-la paper pack. I distressed the Polaroid with some Dessert Sand ink from Memento. For the actual picture in the Polaroid, I distressed the background with some Summer Sky ink from Memento on the entire square and some Broken China Distress ink for a darker effect on the sides. Then I stamped the Snowflake stamp from Imaginisce in Bahama Blue ink from Memento and accented each snowflake with some blue stickles. For the owl, I used Lawn Fawn’s Winter Owl set. I stamped the owl on some plain white card stock and colored it in with Copics. I paper pieced the scarf with the same green chevron paper from the Fa-la-la paper pack by Lawn Fawn. I used googly eyes for fun. For the sentiment, I used the puny sentiment from the same Winter Owl set. I stamped the each word individually to properly space it between three lines in Lady Bug and Cottage Ivy inks from Memento. I also stamped the mini heart border. I placed some peppermint single cord from Lawn Fawn under the die cut image for added accent.
