Wishing You The Most Beautiful Day

Hi everyone. I’m back with a card using supplies from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero box. When I saw the stamp and die included, I fell in love and ordered it right away. We can never have too much flower stamps. Plus the sentiments are amazing.

Here is my card —

Wishing You The Most Beautiful Day

I started this card with a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I stamped the flower and leaf images from the set with Versafine Onyx black ink using some masking techniques to make it look realisitc. I used shades of purple/violet to color the flowers and shades of green to color the leaves from the Prismacolor pencil set.

For the sentiment, I stamped it with the same black ink and allowed it to dry. I cut the panel using the largest stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things to frame the design. I attached the stitched panel on to a 4 Bar  cardbase of Hero Arts layering paper. To finish the card, I embellished with some black gems from Hero Arts.

That’s it for this card.

This card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme for this week is FLOWERS.

Thinking Of You

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a card using WPlus9 and Simon Says Stamp products. I am entering this card for a few challenges which I will list at the end of this post.

Here is my card —

Thinking of You Wplus9

I started this card with the Carnation layering paper from Hero Arts cut to a standard size landscape card. For the front panel, I used Neenah Solar White cut to 5 1/4 by 4 inches.

The images I used are from the More Fresh Cuts set from WPlus9. I also used the coordinating die cuts. I cut a variety of flowers from the set and stamped them with different colors of Hero Arts and Simon Says with different layers for added depth. I arranged the cut flowers on the top right part of the panel to look like a bouquet. Some flowers were adhered straight to panel and others were stuck with foam tape.

For the sentiment, I stamped the “Thinking of You” sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp set with the same name. I stamped it with VersaMark ink and silver heat embossed it.

To finish the card, I added some shine to the flowers with the clear Wink of Stella glitter brush. I also placed some sequins in matching colors from Pretty Pink Posh.

That’s it for this this card.

I am entering this card to the following challenges —

Love You Dearly

Hi everyone. I’m here today with a card using a rubber stamp from Stampendous and a Paper Smooches sentiment stamp.

Before we get to the card making, I just wanted to announce that I will be starting my holiday card series on November 15. Each card will have companion video to go along with it. I will also have giveaways through out the card series. I will release more details as the date gets closer. I hope you come and join the fun.

Now for this card, I wanted to make a card for a friend who is going through something and I thought the flowers and bright colors will cheer her up.

Here is my card —

Love You Dearly

I started this card with Neenah Solar White card stock cut to a standard size landscape card. For the background, I stamped the top portion of the card with the Zinnia stamp from Stampendous with Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossed it. For the sentiment, I stamped a sentiment from the Pretty Phrases set from Paper Smooches with the same Versafine ink and also clear embossed it for more dimension. I attached a strip of some Shallows layering paper from Hero Arts to separate the background from the sentiment area. I covered the strip with some Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush for some shine.

For the flower focal image, I stamped the Zinnia on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored it in with Copics. I will have the colors below but I wanted to use orange, blue and yellow tones on the flower. After coloring, I fussy cut the flower and colored the edges with a black marker. I adhered the flower with foam tape. To finish the card, I colored the entire flower with the Clear Wink of Stella glitter brush for sparkle and shine.

This card is an entry for the current Paper Smooches Sparks challenge theme  – ANTHING GOES.

Anything Goes PSS FINAL

This is also an entry for the Runway Inspired Challenge featuring Oscar de la Renta. Here is the fashion inspiration.

Thanks Ever So Much

Hi everyone! I’m here with a card for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.

SPARKS BADGE

This week, the challenge theme is PICTURE PERFECT based on this inspiration picture.

October2014

Here is my card —

Thanks Ever So Much

I started this card with a standard size card with the fold on top using Neenah Desert Storm card stock. I adhered a panel of patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Fresh Cuts 6×6 pad. I also cut a strip of patterned paper from the same Fresh Cuts pad to adhere to the left side of the card.

For the flowers, I was looking at the free digi section of the Paper Smooches website and I fell in love with these flowers. I immediately printed them and colored them in with various colors of Copic Markers. I attached them with foam tape and accented the center with a clear gem from Hero Arts.

For the sentiment, I used the Pretty Phrases stamp set and stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and clear embossed it for a raised finish.

To finish the card, I adhered some coordinating colors of sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

Runway Inspired Challenge #62 – Thank You

Hi everyone! I’m here today with an entry for the Runway Inspired Challenge.

When I saw this picture, I knew that I loved the color scheme and even though I didn’t have bird images, using the color scheme would be awesome.

So here is my card  –

Thank You Runway Challenge

I started this card with a 5 1/4 x 4 panel of Blueberry card stock from Bazzill. I drew a rough curved line on the panel to make sure i keep with the curved shape. For the scribbles, I used the Favorite Flowers stamp set that comes in the Simon Says Stamp June 2014 card kit. I used the large and medium scribble. Using VersaMark ink, I stamped the scribbles along the curved line I drew. I embossed it with the Hero Arts white embossing powder. With the space left, I used the Fancy Thank You woodblock stamp from Hero Arts also with VersaMark and white embossing powder.

To finish the card, I adhered it using foam tape on a standard size landscape base of Neenah Solar White card stock.

That’s it for this card.

Please check the list below for a complete list of the supplies I used.

*I couldn’t link the Simon Says Stamp Favorite Flowers set on InLinkz, so I am linking it separately.

**The Hero Arts “Thank You” stamp I used is already phased out, but I found a similar stamp from a new release which I am linking below.

You Are My Favorite Friend

Hi everyone! I’m here with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

wed-newchallenge-header

For this card, I used the supplies that came with the June 2014 card kit. This card kit, like all the other kits is a great value and in my opinion one of the best kits that has been released. The theme for the SSS Wednesday Challenge is “You Gotta Have Friends”.

Here is my card —

You Are My Favorite Friend

I started this card with Bazzill Candy Hearts card stock cut to a standard size card with the fold on top. For the front panel, I used Neenah Solar White card stock cut to 5 x 3 3/4 inches. For the background of the white panel, I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire demonstrated on this card. Jennifer demonstrated this technique using blues and greens to create a water scene. I decided to use greys to create a neutral background. Any alcohol marker will do but I used the Fine Touch markers in different shades of warm grey.

For the flowers, I stamped the different circle flowers using lighter inks and the details of the flowers using darker inks. I will mention every ink color I used in the supply list below. For the sentiment, I also used the Favorite Flowers set that came with the kit. Using Studio G black pigment ink, I stamped the sentiment and used some Martha Stewart clear embossing powder to make the sentiment pop.

To finish the card, I attached the panel to the base and accented the flowers and leaves with the Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen.

That’s it for this card. I will be back soon with more cards from this card kit.

Giving Thanks – Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker BlogHop

bloghop

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a card for the Pretty Pink Posh Sequin Shaker Card Blog Hop. Paulina has a store selling the most amazing colors of sequins and other embellishments. And not only are the products amazing, she is amazing.

To celebrate the success of her store and the growing popularity of sequins, she decided to host a blog-hop and invite everyone to join in.

So here is my card  —

Giving Thanks - Shaker Card

I started this card with the Green Apple card stock from Simon Says Stamp cut to 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 (a little bigger than a standard size card).  For the shaker panel, I wanted to try something different (at least to me). I have never made a shaker card with different compartments so I wanted to try it. I have this die cut set from Momenta that I saw that the clearance area in Hobby Lobby and I loved it and immediately purchased it.

My first attempt was a minor fail. After I had placed where the flowers would go, I decided to make square compartments for each opening. I didnt realize that the sequins would barely stay in the center since the square was bigger that the flowers. My second attempt was the correct idea. I decided to use fun foam and I die cut the flowers where I wanted them and did a second layer. The sequins were contained only to the area of the flower.

The sequins I used are all from the Pretty Pink Posh shop. I used Lemon Drop, Tangerine and Pansy Purple. To each flower I also added mini clear sequins from Darice. I also scattered some same colored sequins to the front of the card which I adhered with Glossy Accents. For the sentiment, I used the Giving Thanks set from Simon Says Stamp. I used the “Giving Thanks” sentiment with VersaMark ink and added silver detail embossing powder from Recollections.

To finish the card, I felt the front panel was too white so added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen on the edges.

That’s it for this card. I will back on Wednesday for another Wednesday Card Day.

Thanks for reading!

Thank You For Everything

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a thank you card. It seems like I have been on a thank you card kick lately. I used one my favorite stamps from Simon Says Stamp. It is the Life Is A Journey set. I got this set from the September card kit and I have been in love with it.

The techniques I used for this card came from a tip that Laura Bassen shared during the Clean and Simple – One Layer Cards from Online Card Classes.

Here is my card —

Thank You For Everything Flowers

I started this card with Neenah Solar White card stock cut to a standard size card. I used the dots stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop and sponged it with some Memento Desert Storm ink. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Banner stencil and sponged it on the center with more Desert Sand ink.

For the flowers, I used the Simon Says Stamp Life is a Journey set and various shadow ink colors from Hero Arts (I will list them in the supply list below). I stamped a random pattern using the various flowers and leaves from the set diagonally.

For the sentiment, I used the “thank you” and “for everything” stamps from the same SSS set. I stamped the thank you on the stenciled banner and the “for everything” below the banner using Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe ink.

The technique that Laura shared was that we can show dimension through some illusion by layering inks.

SUPPLY LIST:
1. Neenah Solar White card stock
2. The Crafter’s Workshop Dot Stencil
3. Simon Says Stamp Life is a Journey set
4. Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Green Hills, Ultra Pink, Passion Flower, Cornflower
Blue, Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe, Butter Bar, Tide Pool, Lemon Yellow,
     Mint Julep, Cup o’ Joe)
5. Memento Ink in Desert Sand

This is shared for the Work It Wednesday feature over at the Simon Says Stamp blog

That’s it for this card. Thanks for reading!

Always Be A Dreamer

Hey everyone! Today’s card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

wednesdayblog-logo

wed-newchallenge-headerThe theme for the challenge is — ANYTHING GOES!

Here is my card —

Always Be A Dreamer

I started the card with some Neenah Solar White card stock cut to a landscape standard sized card. I cut circle from masking paper and adhered it to the center of the card. I stamped the Hero Arts Tiny Flowers background stamp in Hero Arts shadow ink in Cornflower blue. Because I masked the circle, that whole part was completely free from ink. For the flowers, I used the Simon Says Stamp “Life Is A Journey” set and stamped the flowers in the following Hero Arts shadow inks  – Soft Cantaloupe, Cornflower Blue and Bubblegum Pink. For the leaves, I used Hero Arts shadow ink in Green Hills. For more interest, I restamped the middle and end flowers so I could attach them with foam adhesive for added depth. For the sentiment, I used the Be stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. I used Soft Cantaloupe for the first and last line and then for the Be, I used Cornflower Blue. To finish the card, I put some Hampton Arts clear gems on the raised flowers.

SUPPLY LIST:
1. Neenah Solar White card stock
2. Hero Arts Tiny Flower background stamp
3. SSS  Life Is A Journey stamp set
4. SSS Be stamp set
5. Hero Arts shadow inks Cornflower Blue, Soft Cantaloupe, Bubblegum Pink and Green Hills
