To My Mama Bear – Happy Birthday

My mom and I always joke around calling each other Baby Bear and Mama Bear. So even if my mom’s birthday is still far away, I jumped on the chance to make this card using the Lil Hoot set from Hero Arts.

I am entering this card for the A Blog Named Hero Interactive Card Challenge sponsored by Chibitronics. Chibitronics is not required for this challenge but the card had to be interactive. So after a lot of thought on what kind of interactive card I wanted to make, I settled on a spinner card.

Here is my card —

I started this card with a the Neenah Textured card stock in blue and stamped the Hero Arts Magical Background using Versamark ink and embossed in American Crafts Zing Clear Embossing powder. I wanted it to haver stitched edges but I didn’t have a big enough die, so I used the straight line die cute from Pretty Pink Posh on each side. I cut the circle on both the panel and card base at the same time. For the image, since the bear from Lil Hoot wasn’t symmetrical, I had to do mirror image stamping to get the the back side of the image for the spinner.

For the sentiment, I used one of the smaller dies from the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangles Stax. I used Milo’s ABC from Lawn Fawn to create the mama bear sentiment and a happy birthday sentiment from the It’s Your Day set from Hero Arts.

Here is a short clip of the spinner card in action —

Happy You’re My Friend

Hi everyone! Im here with another card I am entering for a couple challenges. I will link the challenges below.

Here is my card —

I started this card with a panel of Neenah Solar White card stock and I stamped flowers in coral and aqua inks. Then I accented the centers and blank spaces with grey ink. I cut the stamped panel to 4 x 5 1/4 and then used a curved border die to cut the panel on a curve.

On a standard size card base, I attached a grey striped paper from My Mind’s Eye. I curved the sentiment to match the curve of the panel and stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with a silver embossing powder. To finish the card, I attached the curved panel with foam adhesive.

I am entering this card to the following challenges –

Sending You A Latte Thanks

Hi everyone! I’m back with a card today using the emboss/resist technique.

Here is my card —  (I’m still trying to figure out lighting, so please forgive this very dark picture)

I started this card with a panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I stamped the Hero Arts Tiny Flags background set using some WOW Clear Embossing powder. After embossing, I cut the paper in half and tried to resist some colors. I used some distress inks in rainbow order.

For the image, the sketch challenge I had an object to the right side of the card, so I used the Coffee Cup die cut from Simon Says Stamp.

I adhered the coffee cup and stamped my sentients from the What’s Brewing set also from Simon Says stamp.

Wishing You The Most Beautiful Day

Hi everyone. I’m back with a card using supplies from the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero box. When I saw the stamp and die included, I fell in love and ordered it right away. We can never have too much flower stamps. Plus the sentiments are amazing.

Here is my card —

Wishing You The Most Beautiful Day

I started this card with a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I stamped the flower and leaf images from the set with Versafine Onyx black ink using some masking techniques to make it look realisitc. I used shades of purple/violet to color the flowers and shades of green to color the leaves from the Prismacolor pencil set.

For the sentiment, I stamped it with the same black ink and allowed it to dry. I cut the panel using the largest stitched rectangle from My Favorite Things to frame the design. I attached the stitched panel on to a 4 Bar  cardbase of Hero Arts layering paper. To finish the card, I embellished with some black gems from Hero Arts.

That’s it for this card.

This card is an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme for this week is FLOWERS.

Sending You Buckets of Love

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a  card for the Casology Challenge this week.

Week 171 - Vehicle

The Cue Word this week is vehicle. Here is my card —

IMG_7041

I am not really into clean and simple cards – honestly I don’t know my style yet but I like trying different ones and just being quite diverse. I definitely know that I am a modern card maker. I don’t fancy the vintage look that much.

With this card, the started with smooth white card stock from Simon Says Stamp. I masked the sky and grassy hills and colored it in with distress inks. I used Broken China for the sky and Mowed Lawn for the grassy hill. For the vehicle image, I used the Hero Arts Father’s Day set (I think it’s discontinued). There was a truck image with a heart and I loved it. I stamped additional hearts from Lawn Fawn’s Milo’s ABC to have some hearts falling of the truck. I colored the images with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir  markers. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from Simon Says Stamp in Versafine onyx black ink. I cut the entire panel from the My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Stax and adhered that panel on to another white card base.

That’s it for this card. I will update this post later with the supply list.

Thanks for reading.

Celebrate Today, and Everyday

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a new card using some Paper Smooches products.

Here is my card —

Celebrate Today and Everyday

I started this card with a Core’dinations yellow card base which I cut to a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 card. Then I cut a piece of Neenah Solar white to 4×4 to be the front panel. For the images, I used some free digi images from the Paper Smooches blog. I colored the feathers with Copic markers (check the supply list for all the colors I used).

For the border strip, I cut the scallop punch from American Crafts on Simon Says Stamp Smoke card stock. I adhered that to the left side of the front panel. On top of the strip, I placed a bunch of feathers, which I tied with some black twine from Doodlebug, I finished the bow with a gem Hero Arts.

For the sentiment, I used the Pretty Phrases from Paper Smooches and embossed it on Black Licorice card stock from Bazzil.

To finish the card, I added some stitch lines on the setiment strip and added more gems from Hero Arts around the card.

That’s it for this card. Thank you for reading.

DO RE MI-ssing You

Hi everyone! I’m here today with a card for the CAS-ology Challenge. The CUE CARD for this week is MUSIC.

Week 146 - Music

I was trying to think of a way to interpret music and I had a “You Are My Sunshine” card at back of my head. But I definitely wanted to try and think outside the box. Then an idea hit me, and I think this could be one of my favorite card I’ve made. The card came out exactly how I imagined it which is rare for me. It may not be clean and simple with a lot of white space, but i think grey is pretty close. 🙂

Here is my card —

DO RE MIssing You

I die cut the letters / words DO, RE, MISSING, and YOU from different colors using the My Favorite Things Bright Lights Alphabet. I wanted to create a pun on words so I created a space between MI and ssing. For an accent image, I didn’t have any large music note stamp or die cut, so I found a clip art online and cut it. I emembellishedhe note with some Clear Wink of Stella pen and then layered with Glossy Accents.

For the card base, I used a standard size top folding card in Simon Says Stamp Smoke card stock. I stamped the music notes stamp from the Teeny Tiny Backdrops from Lawn Fawn is Hero Arts Soft Granite ink.

That’s it for this card.

I’m Back!!!!! and a new card

Hi everyone! It’s been almost two and a half months since my last post and since I made a card. My life these past two months were far from uneventful. My uncle came into town and stayed for a month and I spent most of my time with him. After he left, I just couldn’t get back into the swing of things. I felt pressured to make a card and every time I sat down to make one, my creative juices were completely dried up. I gave up and did something else and that happened pretty much everyday for the next month or so. I tried so hard but nothing worked. So I decided to give it some time and step away. Then today, I was watching a video tutorial on YT and I felt like creating. So here we are….

I started with the different challenge blogs I frequently join and listed the ones I wanted to join. This brings us to today’s post…

Here is my card –

IMG_5966

I started this card with some Hero Arts Snow layering paper cut to a card base measuring 5 x 3 3/4 inches. I masked off a 1 inch column vertically towards the left of the card stock. I stamped the different flowers from the Truly Appreciated set from Hero Arts. I decided to use Versafine Onyx Black ink so I could clear emboss the flowers. For the shading, the wanted to have an ombre effect, I used the following inks – Hero Arts Soft Pool, Hero Arts Tide Pool, and Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue. For the sentiment, I used one of the greetings from the Little Hoot set from Hero Arts again stamping it in Versafine Onyx black and clear embossing powder.

To finish the card, I added some enamel dots from My Minds Eye and black gemstones from Hero Arts.

That’s it for this card.

This card is an entry for the following challenges:
